I am a PhD student in the Stroke Research Group, supervised by Professor Hugh Markus. Before joining the group in October 2023, I completed a MPhil in Basic and Translational Neuroscience also at the University of Cambridge, with a focus on dementia patients suffering from behavioural and psychological symptoms. I have a strong interest in the underlying pathology of dementia and the influence of vascular factors.
My PhD project involves characterizing systemic and CNS inflammation in small vessel disease (SVD), using brain imaging, cognitive testing and blood biomarkers as a part of the INSVD study. This may help in understanding the pathology of SVD and uncover new therapeutic perspectives. I will also study apathy in SVD patients and the impact it has on their quality of life, as well as their carers’.
I am also a committee member for CamBRAIN, the Cambridge Neuroscience Society for young investigators.
